Bead Journey

For one moment, I thought I would find myself locked up with the same old bead designs.  Though I had deliberately planned it this way due to the ongoing pain I feel on my right hand and arm, creative ideas just come out of the blue.  Like this year's Scarf necklace.

The wood beads with gold studs used in this year's Scarf necklace were sourced from New Jersey in 2009.  I had no intention to go bead buying while on that trip.  I was there for the purpose of family and relaxation.  Yet, fate beckoned.  So I returned home with one luggage filled with beads.

The gold dangling ornaments, on the other hand, were of different use previous to the scarf arrangement.  These were dangling earrings which I discovered and bought from a local souk in 2010.  But since then, all sets have  been tucked  in a luggage and momentarily forgotten.  Until the creative thought of tearing them apart  came about last week. I owe this to one rough day.

So bead and earrings have finally found its use years after.

But this year, I aim going beyond with what I have long been accustomed with--bead necklaces.  I  wish for: beaded bags, beaded purses, beaded home decor, and so forth. Obviously still with beads playing the primary role. WHY? I have worked on bead necklaces for a long time now, and I know for a fact that I will go on with this bead journey for as long as my hands and arms can. But it's about time to add  more spice and get hold of new excitement.

So here you go, my first non-bead necklace offering.  Purple Purse.

2012 Scarf Necklace

I posted this photo in this blog 3 days ago, the day when a situation turned out rough.
Well, the "roughness" ain't over yet given the heavy downpour of insane emotions that continue to flood my text mail. Something connected with my not so long ago life, and an issue that pertains to employer-employee relationship.  Well, here's what I have to say--Get hold of yourself.  BE PROFESSIONAL instead of emotional. Move onLearn

Thank God, my beads have kept me sane throughout the rough days. Here are the first three  Scarf Necklaces this year.

BEIGE

BLACK

PURPLE

This year's scarf necklaces are composed of gold-plated ornaments and wood beads that travelled a total distance of 13,683 kilometers or 8,502 miles or 7,388 nautical miles in 2009.  For queries or orders, you may send your email to bybeadedstory@gmail.com.

Rough Day

Rough day today.  Crossing my fingers that  the issue ends before I turn the lights off, and that there be world peace quick.  But thanks to beading for keeping me tough (sane and composed).

Yes, I beaded while  I huffed and puffed.  Here's what came out...2012 Scarf necklaces.

World Peace!!!

2012 Mother's Heart Necklaces

After a few social events during Mom's visit plus a heartbreaking turnover of my 3-year old pharmacy to its new owners a couple of weeks ago, I'm finally back into the bead-groove.  No deadlocks nor barriers this time.  Thank God!  But I take beading with a mega-dose of extra care.  One arrangement per day, and a maximum of three per week. Again, the right hand has caused me some sleepless nights.

Anyway, I'm so hyped up.  I have accomplished a number of Mother's Heart necklaces already, and are now ready for viewing and ordering via facebook. Click HERE.  To entice you a bit, here are two additional new designs from the Mother's Heart collection.
Michael Archangel

Padre Pio

Of course, the popular arrangements like Our Lady of Guadalupe, Our Lady of Perpetual and Our Lady of Mediatrix remain available.  So go and visit By Beaded Story in facebook now.  Enjoy your weekend!

Happy Valentines Day

Valentines Day three years ago.

J. Bond did not give flowers that day.  Instead, he brought me to where my favorite Sunflowers are once-in-awhile grown (Sonya's Garden).
Today, I deviated from the Sunflower norm.  I "demanded" for my much needed massage treat from Mandarine Spa instead. He gave in :)

But after my one hour Valentine relaxation, I  then begin work with this year's Tala FLOWER collection.
Have a happy and lovely Valentine's Day!!!

Wow 93

There's no doubt I fear the unescapable thought of ageing.  Who doesn't?  This year is a big year.  An end to a decade, then off to the next.  I am swamped with wonder on what's next.  What's in store.  What then.  What-ever! I have nine more months.

Yet, events happen for a reason.  In this case, forcing my five shut senses to grasp as to what ageing is truly all about.

Wow, my grandaunt (my maternal grandfather's sister) just turned 93! How time flies.

It seems like only yesterday when I  spoke how beautiful 90 is.

With Mom and my cousin.  Strong and continues living life to the fullest.  She looks forward to celebrating her 94th birthday already.

Blessed with a loving family...

Ten children...

and, a lot of Grandkids.

I cross my fingers that more of these events come my way.  An assurance on what perks come with  ageing, and how beautiful it can be.  But in the meantime, I am preparing. For what?...defying and smashing fear.  I can do this.  Besides, there's no other way but age.

an Anniversary and a Funeral

On the day we celebrated our 6th year.

But the flowers ain't for me, nor was it meant for that 6th year joyous bliss. Like in previous years, the celebration will happen a bit later. Instead, we celebrated the day commemorating my maternal grandmother's colorful life and finally laying her to rest.

Happy 6, J. Bond!  ... and God speed, Lola Luring!

Moving on

The day we opened our doors, June 2009.

The service we have shared.

The oh-so-many activities we have extended for the community.

The many friendships we have formed.

The countless much-deserved local trips we took to regain strength and enforce camaraderie.

Then, on January 28, 2012.  Our last event at 4am.

And, our parting shot.

Signing off from Generika Bahayang Pag-asa.  All will surely be missed.   Thank you for 3 great years! - James and Trix
