2011 Wishes

I often find myself jotting a mental note at the start of the year to slow down.  A resolution that has long belonged at the top of my list.  Yet, I continued allowing stress to define my days, leaving no other alternative route.  I breathed it.  I lived it.  Subjecting my being to stress was my way of getting tasks accomplished FAST.

*My anthem 2 years ago.

Then one day, I packed up, locked the door and left stress behind.  In a previous blog, I proudly hanged on to a no resolution year this 2011.  Setting myself free from commitments or resolutions, I believe,  handed me over that invigorating break I deserve.

But, I do have wishes that were brought to life  by my days in 2010.   At this point, I cross my fingers that one day, this year, all these will come true (or never happen again).

First,  I wish to learn how to play the piano...exactly like how my friend's husband "makes love" with his piano.  Hehe!

Second, I wish this never happens again.  Ever!

What Typhoon Basyang left behind ... an overnight stay at the ICU and a 3-day accommodation at Asian Hospital.  And that folks is what stress is all about.

Third, I wish that my love for making Mother's Heart necklaces will continue on despite the pain I feel in my right hand and the long hours devoted for making just one.

Fourth, I wish that in some way we inspire the Pharmacy staff ...

... and I wish to provide more employment opportunities to frustrated job-seekers by opening our 2nd branch here :)
San Nicolas, Bayanan.

Fifth, I wish that my 5th year with J. Bond will be blessed by this :) ...

... where I can park my "wish" car too...
Hehe!

And lastly, I wish that our stars are destined for each other :)

How about you?  What's your wish for 2011?

on July 14, 2010

Thank God, I'm finally home!  Last week's ordeal I would say was a major knock on my head and a stressful situation for my loved ones. Something that was bound to happen sooner or later but was deliberately set aside and left unacknowledged. No one to blame here but me.

I have never learned to stop.  Not even go slow. I thrive on the words, Urgent!, Rush!, Stress!, with health placed on the rear-end and often ignored ... a long-ago developed habit which I still practice until Wednesday morning (July 14, 2010) came along.

On that day, every single thing stopped.

First was Typhoon Basyang ... I'm a 100% sure that I was not alone in that havoc situation when Basyang landed in Manila early morning of the 14th.  Even an ounce of sleep was way too difficult to catch given the ravaging sounds heard and felt in all parts of the house. Electricity was cut-off.   Thus, making me rely heavily on the hard swaying shadows of coconut trees to gauge the magnitude of the typhoon. At 6:30am, here's what Typhoon Basyang left behind.

Leaves. Branches. Scattered Trash.

A car bumper that landed in our garage.
Our water hose blown away from its usual spot.

Two fallen trees.  One, right in front of the house.
Second, at the end of this road.

After a little bit of inspection for damages and a slight sweeping of leaves and branches, I instantly fell sick. Really sick! Slumped on the bed the whole day, longing for electricity and gallons of ice cold water. But each gulp only left me more and more dehydrated. In the afternoon, J. Bond rushed me to a nearby hospital and stayed on for 4 days and 3 nights.

Let's just say that all those years of "stress" and "neglect on health" have finally crept up on me.  Those who know me, know well enough  how I work, how I move, how I think.   Never say stop! Never say No!  Just GO!  Every single thing masked well for the purpose of  delivering good results, except health.  I thought I was a super hero (lol!).

Now that I feel much better (though still recuperating), I know I needed this to happen to make me stop, to make me slow down and most especially, to make me realize what really is important and what truly matters.  Believe it or not and crazy as you may think,  I long prayed for this =)   But I never had the discipline to stop.  I was too pre-occupied and hooked with the unimportant and the waste of time!

Then, July 14 happened. Every single thing stopped.  It's time.  I start anew.

Cheers ............... TRIX

March 5, 2010 FATHERS DAY

Today is FATHERS DAY!

I celebrate my Dad's birthday today.  This should have been his 69th year. He passed away more than 2 decades ago, but I know that he has never left my side.

Way before Sonyas Garden existed, "the garden"  already came alive in my mind.   No one is allowed to enter the blue picket gate.  I discovered this.   Unlike any other gate, there are no borders, there are no fences.  The only way is to close my eyes, pass through the picket gate and walk  barefoot on the most beautiful path.

At the end of the path, I see Dad in white by a fountain tending to his plants.   He stops when he sees me.  We embrace and he walks with me toward his cottage. Before we enter, I talk long (very long) and he just listens.

As soon as I finish, we enter the white wooden door of the cottage which I call . . .  the cottage with no walls.

The first time I saw this, I asked, "Won't the wind blow you away?".  All he did was make me see the most beautiful sight I have ever seen  . . . Angels playing happily in his garden.

I will visit Dad today to greet him a Happy Birthday right  before I pick-up Dad # 2 from the airport.  He is arriving at 11:45 am with a sign calling out my name (Lol!  That's what he said in his email.  Please don't!). The sky is gloomy, with a bit of drizzle.  A happy break from the scorching heat.  It must be because of Dad # 2 . . . another theory, he attracts the rain.

I am so excited to see Dad # 2.  He was in Manila October last year (after Typhoon Ondoy and during Typhoon Pepeng).  Then we were together again 2 weeks after in New York. He was declared the official companion during my trip.  It's my turn. I wonder where I'll take him this time.

Most likely, we will have breakfast in a Park tomorrow, then have lunch in a garden and walk along the labyrinth path next weekend.
