Here they are, LIVE!

A little bit of rehearsal at our pantry before the event

The talent show began with a high-energy dance opening number

Awww!!! No one knew about this.
A surprise gift by generiKID finalist Jhamaeca and her friends.
Muchos Gracias, kids. J. Bond and I loved it :)

Calamansi relay and a few other games for the audience

Alvin in action.  Alvin is both a Pharmacy staff and our in-house PROFESSIONAL DANCER. The "chipmunks" (oops, they hated this word) at the back are two of his dance groupmates.  Yep, he really is professional.  He performs in shows, concerts and handles our every Saturday Dance Exercise. Here's the real deal -- Alvin has been existent even way before the Pharmacy happened.  He has been my sidekick for bazaars that I either organize or participate on.  So you see, he is the guy behind the bead selling, and definitely not me for I FAIL on this part of the process. I just float around, while Alvin does all the talking. Great selling skills, I swear!

Meet N Greet Mr. Lacto

generiKID

This is how it has been this week ...

The six finalists amidst clutter.

The bedroom cluttered with pictures of a bunch of talented kids, colored paper, cardboards, stickers, scrapbook materials, pens, scissors and a lot more (except beads). After four elimination Saturdays, we're finally down to six finalists.  And in ten hours (10am to be exact), I watch them all once again perform live  in a  much more grand set-up --  with balloons, confetti, mascots, shimmery backdrop and professional sound system! To add to the festivities, a  100 underprivileged kids will come watch the Grand Finals and later on be fed with a yummy yet healthy lunch provided by a sponsoring Pharmaceutical firm.  Vitamin samples will be handed over to them as well  for free!

Exciting!  After all, generiKID is a brainchild of Generika-Molino that aims to campaign for a child's healthy and active lifestyle.    Sad to say though that  there will only be only be one grand winner for these prizes:  xxx cash prize, one year supply of Pryce Kidz vitamins and a generiKARD loyalty card.

But everyone gets these gifts...

Books on  Healthy Eating and Exercise

The Exercise book. Pages rendered in colorful illustration.

The Healthy Eating Book

Kids must exercise too.
Fun way too exercise. Jump Rope.

Water Bottles for school or pleasure trips.
Remember:  Drink 6-8 glasses (1.5-2L) of water per day.

Generika school notebooks and pens are included in the list of gifts as well.

I'm feeling a bit sentimental that this fun event will soon come to an end for 5 kids.  But whoever wins, this  is just the start. By end-July, Generika-Molino and generiKID goes SCHOOL TO SCHOOL!!!

Adios JESSE and Smile BABY LOUIS

I admire folks ... *oops! I meant celebrities!*... who subject their popular lives to the grueling process of adoption. So while I was having my much needed hot oil, then followed by a hair chop a couple of days ago (ok, let's not get carried away.  2 inches is what I'm talking about here.), I was glued to this ....

Interesting read most especially the part when Jesse took center stage (lol).  No details worth sharing for the reason that  "PARTING WAYS" caused by the foolish act of "infidelity" makes me cringe with negativity. Except for J. Bond's "freaky" following over Jesse's TV show aired at Discovery Channel and a little bit of Jesse talk in this blog, I, on the other hand, take on Sandra's side of the bed.  More like of a girl thing you know, a feeling of the same shared sentiment and a semblance of hurtful yet learning experience.  Haha! Oh boy, I'm beginning to ramble here.  Should you wish to know more developments of this Sandra and Jesse saga, click HERE.

On a positive note (finally!), I live by what I see on People's cover page (on top of the head/back/arms massage by my  hot oil therapist. I swear, you can only experience this HERE. Ooh la la.).  I love every part of it --Sandra's beaming smile, Baby Louis' gaze, the colorful beads (idea!!!) from Sunny (Jesse's 6 year old kid) and yes, the massage!.

It ain't all about tears you know.  Besides, the decision had already been made. Adios, Mr. Monster Garage! Here's the thing, a smile (believe it or not!)  does happen even in tears (and most especially after a massage!)And YES, miracles do happen ... at the right time.  Hello Baby Louis :)!!!

nobody nobody but CHOO

i want NOBODY NOBODY but "CHOO"   .....

(one more time!  yeah!)
i want NOBODY NOBODY but "CHOO.....

EEEEEEKKKK!!! Sounds more like "choo" than "you".  I swear, a serious case of LSS (last song syndrome).  My apologies to the fans of Wonder Girls for saying this ... but I am so ever ready to click on the super dislike button as soon as the Nobody Nobody choo choo song comes on air AGAIN. Yet and much to my dislike,  I am HAUNTED day and night by it for four weeks now. Aaaahhh!

Watching  healthy, energetic and talented kids audition for the pharmacy's 2010 generiKID Talent Search for the past four Saturdays was a refreshing break from the usual medical mission.  But listening to this song over and over again while the kids enthusiastically danced to every choo choo beat have tremendously tortured both my eardrums and knocked my brains off.

As I prepare for this coming Saturday's GRAND FINALS, I am gearing up the ears and the brains for an hour and a half of this choo choo song once again. Thank goodness, I have survived until the finale.  But for now, I might as well enjoy  and shout out loud  ....
I want NOBODY NOBODY but YOU :) LUV it!!! HA!

the Camera-shy GANG

YES!!!  The night we all LONG planned for has finally happened.  Despite the frequent re-scheduling due to various  reasons (including a recent trip to Spain, Rome .... and Bacolod), we celebrated the "tremendously sweet fruit" of HIS labor with a lot of reminiscing and a hodge podge of KFC Hot and Crispy Chicken, Reyes Barbecue, Amber's Pancit, sweet Pichy-Pichy and the newly discovered "banapple" cake by "J" (the food expert of AMalls).

I say fruit of his labor since the photo above is a feature of his  new home, which practically took x-number of years in the making.  The write-up makes no mention of the owner's name nor its whereabouts (I think? since I only did a quick scan.).  Though one thing is for sure, it belongs to a dear friend who still enjoys calling me by the name T.R.I.C.I.E up to this very day. Nothing more. Nothing less.  That's just simply it.  His term of endearment, like honey, sweetheart, or maybe darling.  Fine! (lol)

Meet Her 1, only HE, and aka-Tricie with her beaded cloth belt

Last night, he opened his doors to the now middle-aged, camera-shy gang (except yours truly) who years ago met at work and would once-in-awhile splurge on good food or a thrilling cup of coffee with a marathon of free mixed nut stories. After a quick tour and a huge praise for the beautiful investment, the rest of the night was once again a one year and a half merger of recap and flash forwards.  Believe me.  One must stay focused on each word since topics can  shift in a blink of an eye with no pause nor a short gasp for breath. Absolutely a heart-pumping never ending sharing and a simultaneous consolidated effort of "butting-ins".  The sharing only comes to a halting break when a "bummer" husband gives a reminder call of the curfew time. Lol!  A reason why I brought J. Bond along, on top of  my first concern on night driving.  Anyway, the gang still maintains the same obnoxious knack for eye-popping, smile-widening "chikas".  A thing that I have not had for over a year and a half now.   And boy! I missed that ....

... and  of course the gang too.  These days, we are pretty much indulged with our own thing and  it feels real good to catch-up with a once-in-a-blue-moon  face-to-face chill.  A  momentary break from insanity caused by the daily grind.

To the camera-shy gang ... here are my one to two-liner messages for each of you ....

Her 1 C:   I know you read my blogs.  So think of these as the daily chikas we used to do at work.
Her 2 J:    You are absolutely the certified food expert.  Bazaar soon???
Her 3 N:   My partner in "MDP".  From our 1st training day in Antipolo to our Steven Covey sessions and to our  HKG escapade (with a little bit of arguing with our Australian  finance instructor), we've gone a long way :)
Only HE:  TriCie is proud of your achievement.  Thanks for opening your doors and making us feel home.

Ladies and Gentlemen, Me with the camera-shy gang!  CHEERS!

P.S. You can read snippets of  my friend's home in My Home's May 2010 issue since this blog speaks only of "friendship".

Laundry Day

Not that I like doing laundry.  Let's get this straight.  I don't!  And that applies to both hand and machine wash.  Plus, the folding and the ironing.

This is me at a laundromat in New Jersey late last year. Captures the "laundry" look and the figuring out of which goes where.  I had no choice but to get the task done.  J. Bond was homeward bound that day.  After the washing, the folding and the deciphering, I thought I did great.  A few weeks after and back in Manila, I discovered the boo-boo

Let's just say that there was a MIX-UP of same-looking underpants between J. Bond and Dad 2, which only took a split second look and a quick dress rehearsal to have this boo-boo figured out.  I swear! Blame it on them and their choice of underpants. LOL!

But believe it or not, I am inspired by Laundry today.
