Two Blue Moons

I wrote in this blog a year ago how much I adore the song Blue Moon.  I still do.  In fact, I named one of my 2010 Flora necklaces "Blue Moon".  I beaded while I listened to the song over and over again.  In the process, I became romantically linked to both Blue Moons - the song and the necklace.  So that pretty much made it a whole 2010 of togetherness, and when 2011 arrived, I stopped.

The Philippine flick, Blue Moon, aired over Cinema One a couple of hours ago. My nth time to have seen it, and like what happened in previous rounds, I ended in heavy tears.  Oh yes! It never fails.

Here's a glimpse of a few scenes from the movie I am talking about, with Orange and Lemons singing their version of Blue Moon.

And when I thought there would be no Blue Moons anymore this year, here's what happened next...
A design of 2010, but the movie and song got me  so inspired. Ergo, two Blue Moon necklaces are now readily available.
An arrangement that may either be worn long or in loops.

Blue Moon continues to play...

CHALK is BACK!

If you haven't noticed yet, posted on the right are a few photos of the latest bead works of By Beaded Story.  Last week was about the new TALA Drop, and this week is all about CHALK bead necklaces.

It's been two years (or more?) since I last made a Chalk necklace (click here to see the chalk of yesteryears).  I never thought I'd get back the knack for CHALK, especially with my obvious preference for these 4 out of 6 By Beaded Story collections:  (arranged according to preference)   TALA (glass collection) BEADED CLOTH (cloth necklaces)FLORA (nature-inspired) and LASO (ribbons).  The last collection, BUTONES (buttons), entails a separate feature.  Unfortunately, this I have not talked about yet except for a photo posted in this blog.

As mentioned in By Beaded Story's multiply site, I have chosen to go slow with my bead works this year ... which has proven to be a worthwhile strategy to keep that fire-in-the-belly burning. So far so good and I'm proud of myself for keeping up with the promise.  Believe me, I've learned my lesson.  Stress equates to a grim dead end.  Thus, "having fun" with beading remains to hold that top spot in my list.

Anyway, I am ecstatic and without further ado, CHALK is BACK .....

Chalk A (ribbon):  Brown

Chalk A (ribbon): Black

Chalk B:  Brown and Mustard

More CHALK coming soon .....

Laundry Day

Not that I like doing laundry.  Let's get this straight.  I don't!  And that applies to both hand and machine wash.  Plus, the folding and the ironing.

This is me at a laundromat in New Jersey late last year. Captures the "laundry" look and the figuring out of which goes where.  I had no choice but to get the task done.  J. Bond was homeward bound that day.  After the washing, the folding and the deciphering, I thought I did great.  A few weeks after and back in Manila, I discovered the boo-boo

Let's just say that there was a MIX-UP of same-looking underpants between J. Bond and Dad 2, which only took a split second look and a quick dress rehearsal to have this boo-boo figured out.  I swear! Blame it on them and their choice of underpants. LOL!

But believe it or not, I am inspired by Laundry today.
