Happy Mothers Day!

Whoever said Mothers are only made of this .....

.... is correct.  And  WRONG!

They can be FEROCIOUS too.

Despicable was what I thought after the show!  Annoyed shocked with the irrational behavior displayed by both Mother and Daughter.  Reruns were shown  a few weeks after the first episode.  Watched them over and over again ... trying hard to shed light on such behavior. Although, I must say that I was amused and entertained as well.  Haha! It was on its 3rd rerun when  I realized that the answer was just right there all along.

Jesse James (yes, exactly that guy associated with Sandra Bullock???) said ....
Joan doesn't want to be here without Melissa.  Melissa is her support system and those two have been kinda' teamed up even though they have been on separate teams.  It's a Mother and Daughter ... You can't break that bond.

Well explained Jesse!

Moving on to a calmer,  less nerve-wracking Mother-Daughter scene .... Whoever thinks that Mothers don't know how to let loose is again WRONG!

It was at the dawn of the 90's when I first watched Mermaids. The movie brought along a new definition to motherhood .... cool, insane, single, flamboyant, outrageous, rebellious, provocative, yet normal and full of love.  Yes, both traditional and "out of this world" rolled into one!

On this day and age, these two clips I think best depict what Mothers are really all about.  Mothers ain't perfect.  They have their quirks too.  But one thing is for sure, Mother's love is perfectly ferocious!

Happy Mothers Day to my Mom, to your Mom .... and to all other forms of "MOMS" out there!  Hey, as long as you love, you care, you raise (even a pet) and you educate, I believe you're one great ferocious Mom.

a Mother's Day letter to MOM

Dear MA,

I  called one-and-only brother a few hours ago to catch up on  the latest news on your side of the world.  I assumed he was busy after having noticed the ongoing sounds I heard from his end.  In a nutshell, he said that you and everyone else(?) were in his place.

An advanced Mother's Day celebration was what I thought :)

Remember this photo Ma?  I posted this in Facebook and shared a little bit of story in this blog.

My first un-planned encounter with the image of Virgin Mary found in Maryridge, Tagaytay end of March.  A spur of the moment suggestion which J. Bond and I happily said yes to.   My reason for being there was only to replenish my stocks of sugar free strawberry jam and lemongrass soaps.  Later on, I realized that there was a real purpose for being there.

I was grieving the day before ..... affected by the resignation of my favorite yet most notorious, most brutally frank and most spoiled pharmacy staff.  She did cry during the talk.  I, on the other hand, controlled the emotions. It was only after our talk I allowed the tears to flow.  And for a moment, I too wanted to give up and resign as being the owner of Generika.

It was this quick trip to Maryridge that made me later on realize that  I am meant to be exactly where I am.  You knew how long I prayed for a new life .... how scared I was to submit that one-pager intention ... and most especially face the possibility of being denied.  The only thing you said .... "If it's meant for you, it will be given to you."

We both know what happened next.  I was given a thumbs up.  A year and a half after, I am exactly where I dreamt of being for twelve long years.

I know tears and frustrations will still happen.   The thought of giving up and resigning because of one mishap, on the other hand,  I admit was silly.

You knew. This new life was meant for me ... and it came at the right time.

My 2nd un-planned encounter with the image of Virgin Mary at Dona Jovita Garden Resort on April 30, 2010.

I do love the mountains like you. But a 5-minute trek under the scorching summer heat  (close to 12 noon) ain't the right thing to do.  Have you noticed in my photos posted in Facebook that I wore a hawaiian-inspired dress while J. Bond and B=RAVE dude friend were in their bare-skinned top and board shorts?  And by the way, we matched our outfits with flipflops.  A new cool way to go trekking.

For some reason, I did not notice the heat.  All I thought while going up and going down was the fall I recently got myself into.  J. Bond is fully healed.  While I, as you very well know, heal slow.  I'm getting there.  I know I will.  I no longer mind the marks, Ma.   I have finally accepted the fact that all the marks are part of the plan.  Each mark has its own story to tell.  The longest mark is all about beading.  The most recent is about marriage.  The rest are mostly a hodge podge of the past-- work, cooking, household chores and simply carelessness.

Others have noticed and have given me unsolicited words.  I let them.  They don't know  the real story anyway.  So let it be .... and live what was planned with acceptance, grace and happiness.

My 3rd un-planned encounter with the image of Our Lady of Fatima in Marikina on May 2, 2010.

I was in Marikina to help plan for an 18th birthday celebration.  We roamed around the place after the planning, closely observing life months after the wrath of Typhoon Ondoy.  Seems like life is back to normal.  No trace of last year's disaster.  One thing I noticed though,  Marikina is the cleanest city in Manila.  Not a single trash in their thoroughfares.

Bumped into Our Lady of Fatima while J. Bond and I visited a cousin's property.  I was in awe when the image made its presence felt.  I then wondered the reason  why these three images have crossed my path  in a span of one month.  Never did this happen.  I took this 3rd image as a sign to get going with my Mother's Day beaded necklace.

The image of Our Lady of Guadalupe was what I only brought home from my first trip to Quiapo January of this year.  I practically rummaged all stores along Villalobos Street.  Nothing interested me .... except for this.

I bought 2 packs, with 6 pieces per pack.  It was you in my mind, Ma.  I knew I had to make a beaded necklace that is all about you on Mother's Day ....

Treat this as my way of giving you my deepest gratitude.  Thank you Ma .... For the love, support and understanding ... For seeing, knowing and giving me the freedom to live my life and spread my wings.  On your day Ma, always remember that I (and the rest of the gang) are here for you.  My only wish for you is that you find peace and happiness soon ... Exactly the same way I see you in this  photo with Dad ....

I love you.  Happy Mother's Day!  ...........................   Love, TRIX

Beauty and Truth

Life is Beautiful.  Is it?

A CLOSE relative boldly posted this yesterday  ----
de·cep·tion [dih-sep-shuhn] - noun 1. the act of deceiving; the state of being deceived.            2. something that deceives or is intended to deceive; fraud; artifice. -Synonyms trick, stratagem, ruse, wile, hoax, imposture
It's my turn  ....

What makes this beautiful?
I say it is the lighting effect that gives emphasis on the design of the glass.

What if lights were off?
Of course, you won't see.  Not even a trace.
What's there to see if lights are off!  NOTHING right?

Then perhaps it is in this case you'll realize what deception is all about.

Here's what I think .... it is in the superficial (and the manicured lighting effects) and shallow thrills where deception lies.  The superficial  eventually fades but can forever break the most valuable.

I stop from here.  I have said my point.

If you see beyond, even in the darkest hour, then only you can say that your .....

Hey Ya! WAKE UP!!!

My back reached the peak of its stiffness yesterday. So took a quick break from beading and headed straight to a nearby mall. Relaxation sipped in while strolling along the deserted hallways with a cup of Sebastian's Sugar Free ice cream. Ooh guilty pleasures!

Then -- I saw them ....

A cool way for kids to spend the summer break.  Guitar lessons never entered my mind in my younger years.  It was mostly the girly stuff ... like Ballet ... Bayanihan (Philippine National Folk Dance Company) ..... Ballet .... and Bayanihan.  That's it!  Now, I wish I have enrolled myself in guitar lessons (or any kind of musical instrument).  My mom and J. Bond play the guitar well.  Except for the tune of DO-RE-MI, I  have no idea how to even read a musical note.

Stood in one corner for around 30 minutes reminiscing on my young summer breaks. I was pretty much in a daze ... borderline to dozing off. Then I woke up ... Lo and Behold! Kids' heads started to  nod forward and backward too.  On its way to sleepy land.

Reason for this ....

.... Guitar teacher spent the whole time interacting with the white BORED board! Poor kids.  I admire them though for their patience and eagerness to learn the guitar. But (between us) this session would have been my last if I were his student :)  This may be my Mom's reason why she chose ballet and bayanihan for me ... requires a lot of movements and no way of dozing off.

We have our own likes especially for the Summer Break.  For now, here's hoping that these KIDS STAY AWAKE!

Flora necklaces for MOM

Dancing in the Moonlight

This morning's quick discussion (around 7:30am) ....

J. Bond          You're torturing me!  It's the heat!
Me                Nooooooo! It's the beads!
J. Bond         Ok! Ok! It's the heat and the beads!
Me                Yes!!!

Lovely Day

With Mother's Day a few days away, I'm rushing to finish and deliver bead orders.  And for some reason, ALL clients have chosen to order from THE SAME collection ... the FLORA COLLECTION.  Must be the concept of flowers(?) ... or maybe nature(?).

Blue Moon

Remember what I said  in previous blogs?  The flora designs are the hardest to put together.  I have been capping my nights with a stiff back ... and thus culminating with a torturing mood this morning.  Poor J. Bond (hahaha).

Happy Angels

I'm half way done with the Flora orders ... then I resume with my Mother's Day beaded necklace.  Once done, I would absolutely love to hear the reaction of the Moms who received a Flora necklace from their daughter ... or son on their special day.

Flower Garden

Meanwhile, I will try hard to work ... in peace ...

soon-to-come Mother's Day flora arrangement

Note:  A Flora necklace may be worn long or choker-style.

My Nephew's Song

The break-mode bug is still here. Four days now but slowly getting back to reality.  To shrug this off, I have started my arrangement for mother's day.  Let's just say that 3 similar images in a span of one month have called my attention to get going.  The third image made a strong impact last Sunday.  The biggest of them all. A reminder that Mother's Day is a few days away.

Since the bug still pretty much bugs me around,  can't help but reminisce my NY trip a few months ago.   It was during this trip I first met my nephew (lil bro of my FLOWER GIRL / HELLO KITTY NIECE).  The mini-me of my one and only brother and whose  favorite word is "NO"!

Wish I can zoom my way to NY for lots of little hugs and kisses (note: Nephew is not too fond of this.).   But for now, I will have to make do with these  photos.

Miss ya, kiddo ... especially your cranky way of saying  "NO"!  Want to squeeze you hard and give you eeky kisses on your cheek this very minute!!! Watch and listen to this.  I often imagine that this is you and your dad ....

The BEST JOB in the World

Even one day getaways are difficult to shake off from the bloodstream. In other words, APRIL 30's fun escape still looms and beckons.  Why can't every day be a FUN-VACATION day???  More so be paid just for having fun.

Speaking of having fun, I ALMOST -- really! --  applied for THE BEST JOB IN THE WORLD when National Geographic posted their announcement early 2009.  Unfortunately, I somehow misplaced my guts that time.  So the credit went to him ....

COOL!!!  Hopefully I find my guts the next time around(?).  The show starts on May 18 over Nat Geo TV.  Click on this link to know more.

Like what I said, my thoughts have been stuck in this place for 3 days now ....

Nothing else to do but push myself back to reality.  H-A-R-D!!!  I know ... not all days can be a vacation day.

But thoughts can still wander, right???
